Projects

Projects are large scale initiatives meant to be transformative, with significant impact on the development of research and education in Armenia. They are typically meant to be funded by the government, benefactors, and foundations and spun off into independent entities. ASOF acts as a focal organizational point, provides the needed expertise and human resources, helps mediate and create the needed coalitions, and can also help in fundraising. Projects can be initiated by any member but require the active involvement of the Executive Director and/or members of the ASOF Board to get realized.

ETICA

The group, led by Maria Baghramian, is engaged in developing the Center for Ethics in Public Affairs at the American University of Armenia within the Turpanjian division.

The Center for Ethics in Public Affairs seeks to become a national hub for addressing ethical issues in the public sphere. The EU-funded ETICA project will strengthen research and training in ethics in the public domain by building a team of researchers and a network of international collaborators under the leadership of the ERA Chair Professor Maria Baghramian. The Center will contribute to international research on the theme of trust and hope in a time of crises, establish long-term resources for research and training in applied ethics and engage the public in critical ethical discussions. Additionally, it will support reforms in research management and funding application processes.
