Vision: Democratic and Free Armenia - future Global Hub for Innovation, Science, R&D, startups.

To enhance its development prospects and security guarantees, Armenia needs a deeper integration into global value chains. Development of Armenia’s high-tech sector over the last 25 years has been a profound economic success. This success and new opportunities created by the arriving talent from Russia and elsewhere have created an opportunity for the major breakthrough in scaling up the innovative sector of the economy.  

To build on new opportunity, we propose launching a program "Startup Armenia" to position Armenia as a global technology hub and attract a steady inflow of talent and startups from around the world.

The proposed program has the potential to become a game-changer for Armenia, showcasing the country's commitment to innovation and transforming the country's global image. This would strengthen Armenia’s global standing, bring opportunities for new international partnerships, and generate a positive ripple effect across various sectors of the economy.

Proposed agenda will have 3 stages – a) Building a foundation: experimental pilots, b) gaining critical mass of changes: International recognition of Armenia as an important regional high-tech hub, c) long term - Armenia is recognized as a Global Knowledge Hub for Open Innovation.

Availability of Diaspora and diaspora networks like ASOF is a critical ingredient of the program. Networks of friends of Armenia could serve as a bridge to the global economy, bringing in expertise and connections needed to succeed at the global marketplace, and helping to forge new business partnerships.
